Our Services
Collaboration is at the heart of our approach.
We work with partners across sectors to ensure community lived experience shapes both the design and delivery of healthcare services.
-
Health inequalities are unfair and avoidable. Real change demands new ways of working, informed by lived experience.
Through community-led research, we ensure decision-makers are equipped to deliver equity in access, experience and outcomes.
-
We generate insight by listening first.
By supporting co-production, we empower communities to challenge assumptions and influence outcomes. -
We work with healthcare systems to develop and test new ways of improving health outcomes for Black communities.
By designing low-risk pilots and supporting early adoption, we help turn learning into lasting change.
-
We take a holistic, two-way approach to engagement. Just as communities are expected to engage with institutions, institutions must actively engage with communities. While public sector policy often prioritises one direction and established anchor organisations, our focus is on authentic, reciprocal engagement with Black communities.
By preserving lived experience and strengthening cultural humility within institutions, our approach builds community empowerment and social capital and creates sustainable benefit for all involved.
-
Patties & Punch is an interactive cultural intelligence training programme for healthcare providers across the public and not-for-profit sectors. Delivered through facilitator-led, face-to-face lunchtime workshops, it centres lived experience through direct community participation.
We also offer flexible delivery options and can tailor workshops to meet specific organisational needs.
-
Through our community engagement work with healthcare institutions, we’ve seen how capacity constraints within the voluntary and not-for-profit sector limit impact when organisations operate in isolation. Working alone restricts scale, shared expertise and access to larger, more complex commissioning opportunities.
We encourage and support partnership working as a way to unlock this untapped potential and accelerate progress in reducing health inequalities for Black communities.
-
Across our communities sits a rich and diverse ecosystem of Black-led organisations — from well-established groups to those just starting out; from those embedded in institutional relationships to those still finding their way. Despite these differences, we share a common goal: improved health and wellbeing for Black communities.
The Exchange Network brings Black-led organisations together for mutual support, learning and development. Through monthly meetings, we create space for new ideas, new ways of working and meaningful collaboration. Participation from institutional partners is welcomed.
-
We work with stakeholders to design and deliver impactful events. Where historic mistrust creates barriers, we bring trusted community connections — whether testing ideas, sharing new strategies or delivering targeted health promotion.
